TEASER
1. EXT. AMAZON WOODS - DAY - PAST
A woman in her early 20’s is looking at a young man around the same age lying on the ground bleeding to death in her arms. She looks at him and cradles him in her arms.
The man looks up warmly at the woman as he coughs up some blood, pain in his eyes.
MAN
It’s a shame it must end this way.
The woman wipes the blood off his mouth with her hand.
WOMAN
Don’t die, because what we worked for, bringing peace between my tribe and your kingdom, will perish.
MAN
(gently touching her cheek)
Anastasia, if your tribe and my kingdom are meant to have peace, then have faith that they will.
ANASTASIA
Alexander, please you can’t leave me all alone.
She cradles him in her arms. Alexander, still touching her cheek, gasps his last breath. His hand falls and his eyes close.
Feeling his body go limp in her arms, she looks at him and stops cradling him. She gives a blood-curdling scream. She gently lays him down. She hears footsteps getting closer and shouts in the forest. She turns and sees her sisters approach. The Amazons that were looking for their Queen have found her and they help her to escape.
Several of the King’s soldiers appear and see the Amazons flee.
SOLDIER
(gesturing to two guards)
Follow them and bring them to me.
(turning to the remaining to guards)
You two. Help me attend to Prince Alexander.
CUT TO:
2. INT. CASTLE - CYDONIA - DAY
The castle is bustling with activity. The King’s advisor and a soldier are talking in the corridor. The advisor listens intently to what the soldier is telling him. His face becomes sorrowful and all color seems to drain away. The advisor escorts the leader of the army slowly down the corridor to the throne room. The advisor knocks on the door nervously.
Inside the King is pacing back and forth.
KING
Come in!
The advisor leads the soldier into the room.
ADVISOR
Your Majesty, there is sad news about your son.
The advisor bows to the King and leaves the two men alone.
KING
(worriedly and with a raised voice)
Well?
SOLDIER
We made a surprise attack on the Amazons. As we were nearing their encampment, we found your son dead on the ground. Several of my men saw some Amazons and one of them thinks they saw the Amazon queen as well. He is sure the queen killed your son.
KING
(trying to remain dignified)
I want them searching the woods! I want vengeance on the Amazons!
SOLDIER
The men are already on top of that, sire.
KING
Did they bring my son’s body back to the castle?
SOLDIER
(nods)
Yes sire, they did. They brought the body to the physician’s chambers.
KING
I’ll be going to see him as soon as I compose myself.
SOLDIER
Is there anything else, sire?
KING
Keep me informed of the progress with the Amazons.
SOLDIER
Yes, your Majesty.
He bows and leaves the king to collect his thoughts and feelings.
The King goes to his throne and collapses as tears stream down his face.
KING
My only son. Gone. And the Amazons are to blame. There will be blood spilled in my son’s name. I swear by the gods, I will have vengeance no matter how long it takes!
He squeezes the pendant that hangs around his neck until his hand bleeds.
FADE TO BLACK.
