TEASER
1. INT. CASTLE - DAY
FADE IN.
Princess Maia and Prince Ammon are talking sweetly with each other
in their bedroom.
The Princess has long blond hair and is wearing a simple, yet pretty
gown. The Prince is handsome with curly brown hair and boyish charm.
PRINCE AMMON
Father and Mother want to know when we are going to give them a
grandchild.
PRINCESS MAIA
Well it’s not like we're not trying
She smiles affectionately at him.
PRINCE AMMON
I think my parents at times forget that our love has bound our two
kingdoms together.
PRINCESS MAIA
So do mine.
(beat)
Don't you ever wonder what would have happened had we never met? Or
had never fallen in love? Or fell out of love?
PRINCE AMMON
That’s unheard of! We were destined to meet and fall in love!
To live our lives together.
PRINCESS MAIA
I know, but if something were to happen - if we were to fall out of
love - we would still have to find some other way to make peace between our kingdoms.
Currently our marriage is the only thing holding everything together!
PRINCE AMMON
(embraces his wife)
Maia, I know what you are saying…but that won’t happen to
us.
She smiles tenderly at him and they kiss passionately.
CUT TO:
Ares sits on the windowsill listening in on the conversation.
ARES
Hmmm… what would happen if they did break up?
(an evil grin grows across his face)
Oh this is going to be fun.
He vanishes
CUT TO:
2. INT. APHRODITE'S TEMPLE - DAY
Aphrodite stands looking around, her arms folded before her.
APHRODITE
Oh my gods, this place is in such dire need of a make over.
Ares suddenly appears behind her.
ARES
You know... you could use a make over yourself.
APHRODITE
(pouting)
Ares! That is so rude!
(beat - turning to look at him)
How long have you been standing there?
ARES
Not long… I was wondering if you’d like to play a little
"what if" game?
Aphrodite places her hands on her hips and looks at him with
distrust.
APHRODITE
What kind of a
(making quotation signs in the air with her fingers)
"what if" game?
ARES
How about "what if" love can survive war?
(beat)
Or more so, "what if" a breakup can cause war.
APHRODITE
Love always wins over war. I don’t need a game to help me
answer that question.
(pause)
And it's definitely been known to start more than a few.
Ares looks over and sees some potions locked up in a cabinet.
ARES
I thought you didn’t need potions.
APHRODITE
(shrugging)
I don’t.
(pause - matter of factly)
They're old potions. I was experimenting with them.
ARES
What do they do?
He eyes them.
APHRODITE
Basic stuff. One’s like a revenge potion, another's an
obsession potion, and of course, your basic love potion.
Ares rubs his beard and looks at the names on the bottles.
ARES
So, are you going to be in on this little game with me or not?
APHRODITE
Like hello. I’m way too busy redecorating.
She turns to look around the room and while her back is turned, Ares
sneaks one of the potions from the cabinet and vanishes.
APHRODITE
(without turning)
He’s up to something all right.
CUT TO:
3. INT. CASTLE - DAY
The Princess is in her chambers sitting by the window and
daydreaming. Her thoughts are interrupted by a noise and she turns to survey the room.
CUT TO:
Ares appears beside her as she looks around. Confident she can't see
him, he sprinkles some of the love potion on her.
The princess starts to look a little funny and Ares makes his
presence known.
PRINCESS MAIA
(startled)
Who are you?
ARES
Ares, G -
PRINCESS MAIA
(cutting him off - looking a bit star struck)
Ares… the GOD OF WAR!? I can't believe you're here in my room!
(beat)
But why?
Ares suductively strokes her hair back.
ARES
(leering)
Do I need a reason?
As she stands looking at him in confusion he shakes his head and
leans in and gives her a long kiss.
Ammon walks into the room just then and is shocked and angered at
the sight of his wife passionately kissing another man.
PRINCE AMMON
Maia!
He looks at her with hurt in his eyes.
FADE OUT.
